Why donate to the Ray of Sunshine Endowment?

It is the extras in life that can make the difference from surviving to thriving. This is especially important for people with mental illness who may struggle with feeling joy in every day living.

Ray of Sunshine funds are designed to purchase items or services that make life a little easier, a little happier. This may include: supplies for a favorite hobby, enrollment in an art class, or a bicycle to help with exercise and transportation.

In the last five years, Pathways has served over 6,000 adults with mental illness. 63% have a family income of $9,000 a year or less

Often, it is the stigma associated with mental illness that prevents someone from being considered for meaningful employment or advancement. At times, it may be the illness which hinders performance in a work setting. Regardless, poverty is a harsh reality for people with mental illness.
